If you don't make a selection, it goes to 1% for the Planet by default. Either way, the donation comes out of our profits. Nothing is added to your order total.
Does this cost me anything extra?
No — it comes entirely out of our end. The 1% is paid from Happenstence profits, not added to your cart. You pay the same price you'd pay otherwise. We absorb the cost because we believe it's the right thing to do.
